Went 600 kms to meet a friend. he made an excuse of work escalation and ditched me
I met a guy at my first company, and we became friends. Inspired by other friends who enjoy solo traveling, I started getting interested in it too. So when he invited me to visit him in a new city, I thought I’d be fine spending about 24 hours alone if needed. But when he ditched me, I felt completely devastated.
The worst part is that he hasn’t apologized or made any effort to make up for it. I was originally supposed to leave the next evening, but I ended up leaving early the next morning. When I told him I was heading out sooner, he didn’t even ask why or say anything like, “I’m sorry, I’ll make it up to you.”
I had informed him well in advance that I was coming, but he mentioned he had drunk too much beer the previous day and was suffering from a bad headache and wasn’t feeling well. This is the same guy who had been asking me to visit him for nearly three years, and I finally decided to go.
I’m feeling really bad about the whole thing especially the travel part. I keep asking myself why I even went.
