why is my kitten so unaffectionate?

My kitten is about 4 months old, and his name is Cheddar, (like the cheese lol). And from birth, he really, REALLY dislikes sitting on laps, no matter how much my family and I try to pet and hold him. we never hold him in our arms by force, we just pick him up when we sit on the couch, but he immediately leaves. he also has a "twin brother" who looks very much like him, and he is the most affectionate creature on this earth.

the browser told me that Cheddar just has an independent nature, but for some reason I'm worried :(
