Hi all, got the Formentor VZ ehybrid a few months ago, 2022. with 179.000km. Overall Im happy with the car but it has a few electrical quirks and issues like putting on the heating on max when i start the car up every now and again and same for the seat heating(even though its 40 deegrees celsius outside..), the panorama roof touch controls give up working when its hot also..

But now to the big issue, it happened to me 3 times in a week. Car is outside ky house locked and plugged in to the charger, sudeenly the alsrm goes off, both keys stop working, cant unlock the car and cant stop the alarm, after 5 minites the alarm stops, headlights and tailights are on and wont turn off(for hours)..i go over unlock it with manual key, put the car key in the cupholder spot so it registers the key, but car wont start, i can turn on the multimedia.

Eventually I figured out that if I climb to the backseat and put it down to gain access to the trunk i can disconnect the ground from the 12V battery and the car computer resets and alarm starts again but keys start working i unlock the car and everthing goes back to normal. I can start the car and everything.

I thought i had a faulty 12v battery, went ahead and bought a Bosch AGM 60Ah battery, issue didnt appear for a few days, then happened 2 times in 2 hours…

I am currently on a summer trip and i turn off interior alarm sensor when i exit the car(on multimedia screen) and i double click the lock key to disable the alarm, it hasnt happened since.

Any ideas on what is the real cause and fix? Thanks

Alarm going off randomly, then car is stuck with headlights on and cant start the car
