How do I reconcile my two short bursts of experience?
I graduated with a BS in Comp Sci and landed a software/consulting role out of college that required relocating often. A little over a year in and I quit to come back home, ended up struggling to find a job for another year. Pivoted to being an electrician and trade school. Did that for about 7 months until I got laid off. I’m currently looking at combining these two disciplines into something like BAS/SCADA roles, and I’m using Claude Code to develop some side projects and start building a portfolio of software/BAS related projects.
Basically feeling like both paths got overhyped, I followed, and they didn’t workout for me, and I was only able to really get introductory experience that doesn’t look good to either side of employers due to life circumstances getting in the way. If anyone has any similar experience or obvious advice I’m missing to act on here I’d really really appreciate it.
