Declaring gifted unlisted shares in ITR

Question :snoo_thoughtful:

I have received few shares of an unlisted company from my father in the last FY. They were originally acquired at face value and a few additional shares in a rights issue. I'm a bit confused about how to declare this and what values to use.

In Part A - General Personal Information, it asks for the details of unlisted equity shares. The opening balance is zero. It needs the following info for the shares acquired during the year

  1. Issue price per share (in case of fresh issue)

  2. Purchase price per share (in case of purchase from existing shareholder)

What can I mention in these fields? Can I mark them as 0 since I haven't paid anything for these shares?

Also, for the closing balance, I'm required to enter the number of shares and cost of acquisition. Does the cost of acquisition refer to my cost or the original cost of acquisition for my father (face value + rights issue premium)?

Also, do I have to declare it in Schedule exempt income?
