Samsung Tab trapped in boot loop / blurry text crash screen. Noticeable bent corner inside USB-C port tongue.
Hey everyone, my Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 died to 0% and is now stuck.
- The Symptom: When I hold Power + Volume Down, it shows the Samsung Galaxy logo, flashes a blurry white/black crash dump text screen, and immediately shuts off. Holding Power + Volume Up does absolutely nothing.
- The Hardware: I can see a slight bend/twist in the corner of the middle plastic tongue inside the USB-C charging port. Now, when I try the button combination, it takes way longer to even show the logo than it did before.
- The Gear: I have an official Samsung 25W fast charger (EP-T2510) with a Type-C to Type-C cable, as well as an older Samsung 7.75W charger.
- Constraint: Taking it to a physical repair shop is absolutely not an option for me right now due to extreme privacy concerns regarding my data and I have to change the screen also so sometimes I've heard the lock gets removed or something like that so if it's just get charged a little I can secure those data and turn on the developer mode also.
Is there any way to trick the motherboard into accepting a charge to bypass this crash cycle from home, or is the bent port tongue causing a hard short-circuit that makes it impossible to boot without a hardware replacement? Thanks!
