And i have so much anxiety about it lolll.

Moving is stressful enough as-is, but we are a queer couple relocating from a strictly red state to a somewhat close by blue state (American obv) and while I am extreeeeemely excited about it, I have a ton of anxiety and stress over the move.

So, my partner is kind of the breadwinner in our relationship. She works very hard, does very well for herself and practically has a job lined up already in the city we are relocating to, she just needs to pass her driving record background check and not bomb the interview.

Meanwhile for me, I like my work (hospitality) and wanted to continue working with my current company due to a number of factors: it's easier to transfer while still working under the brand; the discount on hotels when we travel is AMAZING (like $45-$65 a night) and we travel a ton, so it's worth it; and there is potential to get into a corporate position even without a degree, as my post-HS education was in a completely different field that I no longer wanted to pursue (graphic design, I love creating things, but not really for other people, which is why I dropped out before receiving my degree).

The issue is that \*none\* of the places in our new city are hiring. I'd likely have to take a loss on our discount by working somewhere else. And if that's the case, I might want to get into a different line of work altogether. But the entire process of filling out application after application, doing interview after interview, while trying to just simply find a decent paycheck for proof of income, all so that we can sign our lease to the apartment we were looking at, it's all exhausting.

We have a good amount of money saved between the two of us, enough for at least 3 or 4 months of rent upfront in cash. And that's just our squirrel fund at home, not counting our checking and savings accounts. But every rental worth anything will ask for proof of income especially when relocating from a different state, and with us currently being 8 hours away, it's tough to apply to some places when they don't accept remote interviews.

I just wish these next 2 months were fast-forwarded to where we are finally settled in with jobs and an apartment, maybe some other queer friends lol (we are from small city of about 25k people, very conservative area, little amounts of LGBTQ+ folks). And that's not even getting into packing up our things and having to borrow one of our dads' trucks or renting a UHaul or whatever... it's all just so much at once. I'm crazy excited about it!! Buuuut anxious that I'm going to struggle finding work on time for the move, as well as if the city we are moving to will even be that inclusive of folks like us; we've visited before and had a great time, but even on one of the three days we visited, we got a couple nasty looks in what apparently is a restaurant in the conservative area of the city.

I can only just hope that everything ends up working out and all this worrying and stressing is simply over nothing. I've never lived outside of my home state before, I've wanted to leave for years, but always kept finding something to keep me here. Now that we are practically locked in to moving, I can't help but get anxious about it even though i desperately want this. I hate my brain sometimes, lol.

Anyways here's some worms and dirt ice cream in a waffle cone, it was yummy
