How TLPH got Eliminated across 2 series sweeps in MSC.

Discussion🗣️

TLPH is a great team but this patch and its developing Pro Scene meta ruined what was a perfected Macro team for a normalized game.

  1. Current Patch Pro Meta Draft standards

The patch sees 3 assassins on the international scenes that is awesome for assassin playstyle junglers. Hirara, Ling, and Nolan in a lesser extent. What came along in the roam department staple were Belerick, Atlas, Minotaur. The Exp refeatured the most old school meta in sustainable tank Exp with Uranus, Esmeralda, and even Barats, with the occasional Paquito, Ruby, Freya picks that shown some degrees of success. The gold was the least varied across 2 patches post M7 that seen the likes of Moskov, Claude, Harith, and a new one in Melissa and less is Clint but those that played Freya tore apart any normal gold laner that played in MSC that shows Fighter gold laners are an X factor. Perhaps the most egregious change was the Midlane, the Valentina is never away in the pro scene meta ever since she was introduced but what replaced the general AOE CC Zone heroes like Pharsa, Lylia, Yve were Eudora and on even lesser occasions Vexana.

  1. How this nulled TLPH?

The most affected within TLPH was the San-San duo, primarily Sanji. As elaborated earlier, the midlane featured egregious changes that made Sanji looked out of place all tournament long. Sanford for all he tried wasnt able to be an X-factor in swinging key fights. Karltzy was shown to be a bit lackluster thru great team coordination by their opponents that worked to deny him farming opportunities. The only consistent factors were Jaypee and Teddy that tried to salvage untenable situations in the games across their standard drafts.

  1. Phoveus Ban

Perhaps the most questionable thing is how standard the bans got with a visible problem. TLPH consistently banned the Fanny and Phoveus, which i do not understand why the Phoveus ban is crucial to TLPH. I would argue that the Phoveus ban could be better utilized to allow Sanji an opportunity, let alone allow Sanford opportunities to utilize Sanford for himself to entry against a Eudora. My later criticism after reviewing the draft shows me how useless Phoveus was on the group stage. I think it would be better if TLPH actually scouted properly against their opponents.

  1. Opponent preparation and TLPH "lack of preparation"

The fact that on Day 1 of the group stages seen a new meta set developed on the spot was perhaps the most interesting thing, if TLPH even stared at the draft choices, they might have gotten better results. Granted AUR-TLPH matchup no one could have expected what was the most insidious lineup choices, if im TLPH i quake at my boots too. All due respect, TLPH should really invest a ban in Freya, because its clear this is their best way to activate any of their goldlaners for less risk.

  1. What is the meta winning formula showing us?

It is now clear that Exp laners are now a figure of stability that helps to contain, provide peel for their carries, the midlane is not particularly strong in terms of utility but it provides just enough for shutting down what could be a very fast meta of assassins (particularly Vexana and Eudora) or additional CC support (Valentina). The gold lane is pretty standard but Gold lane fighters need additional draft scrutiny to slow their progress, otherwise typical gold laners are only going to have it worst.

  1. What were better draft alternatives within this MSC, but because of the current draft it may not work?

For the most part, many other assassin heroes for they faced similar problems getting chained CC or bursted outright. Some of these are Suyou, Joy, Lancelot, Hayabusa, and even Harley to name a few. But i do think in this developing meta, the tank meta would be slow yet it has a bit of merit to not go down this poorly, but this would now require a roamer to play a different style not usually seen at the highest level. The dangerous damage roamer that can engage soft targets and put constant pressure that is atypical for many pro players.

  1. What to expect from TLPH?

Development of anti-meta that might work for their lineup choices, improving roles to play for the meta. Thats all i hope they should be doing since they have a fairly new coach and gold laner that played for MSC the first time.
