Advice for my first major adults only pride event?

Hi, I(20m) am going to my first adults only pride event. The Vancouver Pride Weekend Closing party. I've never been to a gay bar, let alone something like this, but I thought it'd be fun. That being said, I'd like to make sure I'm safe for this whole thing. I don't mind cutting this whole thing short and just going back to my hotel room if things go south(its only a block away), but I'd rather not. So, I'm looking for some advice. Any tips, concerns, or stories from people who've been to this closing party before, are greatly appreciated.

First, I'd like to go over what I'm hoping to get out of this. Most important, I'm primarily going here for the drag performers. Seeing that Dawn was performing was what got me to grab a ticket. If I only stick around for one thing, it'll be her performance. Second, I'm definitely looking for some dick. This can be done back at my hotel on grindr though so I'm not going to prioritize it. If I can find someone at the event though, that'd be perfect. Lastly, I'd like to try and enjoy the music. This ones pretty simple but if there's anything I should know I'd like to hear it.

Next, my boundaries. First, I plan on staying sober the entire night. I haven't really been drunk before and I'm not trying it for the first time at an event this big. Sounds like a recipe for disaster. Second, if I'm too overwhelmed, I'm leaving. I'm not going to sit there just waiting for it to get better. I'd rather get a good sleep than do that.

Finally, what I plan on bringing with me. This I feel is the most subject to change. I have no idea what would be a good idea(besides water lol). So far I have; Water bottle(sealable lid), my phone, a bit of cash, my ID, noise cancelling earbuds, condoms, a small bag, and light clothes. I don't think there's anything else I'll need, but I don't know lol.

Just some other things of note. First, like I said, my hotel room is only a block away. I've booked it for two people to make hookups easier. Second, I am going alone(probably). While I understand it isn't ideal, I don't exaclty have anyone to go with. If I find someone else whose going then great, but I'm not banking on it. Lastly, I'm probably not staying until 4am. My hotel check out is at 11. I'd rather not be dead tired the next day.
