How do Melbourne dermatologists let GPs know they have appointment availability?
Hi everyone,
I'm involved with a private dermatology practice in Melbourne and was hoping to get some advice from GPs, practice managers or anyone involved in referrals.
We currently have immediate appointment availability, and we're trying to find the most appropriate and professional way to let GPs know. We don't want to spam clinics. We just want to look for the channels that GPs actually find useful.
One thing we've noticed is that after mentioning to a family friend that we offer consultations in Mandarin, we received several Mandarin-speaking patient referrals. It made us wonder whether there's an unmet need among Mandarin-speaking patients and whether there are appropriate ways to reach GPs who care for these communities.
A few questions:
- How do GPs usually hear about dermatologists with shorter wait times?
- Are introductory letters or emails still useful?
- Are there Victorian GP networks or newsletters that practices actually read?
- Are there any professional groups or networks for Mandarin-speaking GPs where this information could appropriately be shared?
I'd really appreciate any advice from GPs or practice managers. Thanks!
