Was Otto Warmbier tortured in North Korea?

I watched a daily wire documentary on Otto Warmbier and throughout the documentary it made it seem like they don’t know what caused his death but I truly believe he was tortured to death. But the documentary’s act like something else happened such as a fever or illness. My question is if he was in fact tortured to death why would the us media act like North Korea are the victims and he did something wrong and deserved this punishment. Are the us genuinely scared of North Korea??
