Games difficulty

I have a question for all members of this r/. Do you think having played souls/bloodborn before sekiro made the game easier, more difficult or had no real effect. I picked it up after playing it on my friends PlayStation. And have never beaten much less sunk more than any souls like game. And something with sekiro just clicked. After lady butterfly (the first boss I faced), seven spears, and the corrupt monk. There hasn’t been a single encounter that’s lasted longer than an hour for me. And as of today owl has been merked. I think I’m in the final quarter of the game. And have never been particularly good (or maybe interested is a better word) at this game genre. Not trying to brag. Just trying to see if anyone else just clicked with this game super fast without any souls history.
