The term “monitoring spirit” just gets thrown around on social media to validate the bruised egos of people who feel their content didn’t get the acknowledgment it deserved

Now I’m not denying the existence of monitoring spirits, cause I fully believe they exist. However I’m sick of seeing the word get thrown around and used incorrectly and out of context. Not EVERYONE who doesn’t engage with your content all the time is a “monitoring spirit”- sometimes your content just wasn’t interesting/funny/ enough to engage with? Someone isn’t a “monitoring spirit” just because you posted a selfie and they didn’t like it lol. People aren’t obligated to acknowledge your every post.

You posted something and thought it was great, thought the selfie was fire, etc and it didn’t get as many likes as you were expecting. Now everyone who didn’t like it is a monitoring spirit? Come on.
