NIT Raipur is the shitest tier 2 NIT 🤬
3,821 boys students. Just 1,196 boys hostel seats.
Thousands of students are forced to live off campus, where many complain about poor hygiene, dirty water, and even hair fall. Most NITs have expanded their hostels over the years, but NIT Raipur's infrastructure hasn't kept pace with the growing student intake.
The hostel allotment process is another issue. Why are the students category and admission rank displayed publicly? It only invites unnecessary comparisons and judgments. Some of my SC/ST friends have told me they felt uncomfortable because of it, and even as an OBC student, I noticed subtle bias based on those lists.
I expected hostel life, late night coding, club activities, and a vibrant campus. Instead, students are scattered across the city, campus life feels fragmented, and even simple administrative work becomes a struggle.
Every college has problems, but compared to what my friends at other NITs describe, the gap is hard to ignore.
I am a fourth year student of NIT Raipur. And I am also a member of T&P. I can tell you a lot of scams happen here and a lot of companies have blacklisted NIT Raipur for the same.
