Don't know what I'm looking for

I had the game and the dlc on xbox and loved it so when I got my pc it was an easy choice but there's a few things I'd like to change. I want to not have a time limit (like the avatar project forcing me to do all the things and enter the endgame) so I can unlock all the research upgrades for weapons and armor and the like. I'd also like to have an xp booster for my soldiers so the grind to max level isn't so long, preferably both of these coming from steam workshop as I'm assuming it's as simple as subscribing makes it just work (although I'm new to all this so if I'm wrong please correct me) any and all ideas are appreciated!
