How do I switch to this game?

So I've been playing tos 1 for years, and I really want to try tos 2 but every time I try to gain a little bit of understanding from a YouTube video they attempt to re explain the entire game. I'm hoping at least some of my knowledge from tos 1 would carry over. Any suggestions? Thanks.
