Walk from temporary Parihaka car park

My in-laws are visiting and I was hoping to take them to see the summit view at Parihaka. They aren’t the springiest of chickens and I’m seeing the summit park is closed but there is a temporary car park - could anyone advise what the walk is like from there to the summit? Nga mihi!
