First-time Commander builder looking for advice on Zaxara, the Exemplary

Hello everyone,

I’m currently building my first Commander deck from scratch with Zaxara, the Exemplary as the commander.

So far, I have selected around 30 cards. I think I have a solid starting point, but I’m unsure how to develop the deck from here. I want it to be strong and consistent without neglecting protection, interaction, and card draw.

The cards in the Moxfield link are cards I already own and definitely want to include in the final deck. I’m also a little concerned that the deck might end up too heavily focused on green.

I have already looked through several deckbuilding websites and researched X-spells that appear to synergize well with Zaxara. However, I would really appreciate advice from experienced Commander players and deckbuilders who have played Zaxara or similar X-spell strategies.

I’m currently planning to add:

• Unbound Flourishing
• Parallel Lives
• Possibly Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider, provided I can find an affordable copy

The deck is intended to be around a strong Bracket 3.

I would especially appreciate advice on:

• Specific cards or lands I should add
• The right balance between X-spells, ramp, interaction, protection, and card draw
• Whether the current card selection is too green-heavy
• Cards that may look good on paper but tend to underperform in practice
• Any obvious weaknesses or win conditions I might be overlooking
