Is it too grindy?

I'm in winter of year 1. I have a small crop patch, 4 basic traps, 2 chooks and a medium size fruit farm.

I'm just starting to get to the mines but it costing £25k per session is really extortionate.

I don't want it to just be this grinding money chasing game, is it that or am I seeing it wrong? Or can anyone advise how to make money easily? I find fishing frustrating.
