Paver Pathway advice

Hi all, getting a stone paver walkway installed through front yard. Concrete base actually coming in cheaper than a crushed rock base, due to thinner pavers required for concrete. Is Concrete base superior or will crushed rock be perfectly fine with a 30mm paver? I need to wait 10 weeks for 15mm paver for Concrete base though. Cheers
