Recommendations for safe and comfortable Egypt Travel

I think more so than any other major tourist destination, I've heard horror stories of travelers having negative experiences in Egypt - or taking accommodation that ended up with them getting heatstroke. If anyone has done an Egypt trip I would be interested in your accommodations + experiences
