The person I would like to become
I've been reflecting on the kind of person I want to become.
Oddly enough, some of the inspiration came from villainess and historical anime—not because of the fantasy or romance, but because many of the female leads are portrayed as disciplined, educated, emotionally mature, elegant, resilient, and deeply competent.
I'm not trying to imitate fictional characters, but I do admire the qualities they represent.
This is the kind of person I'd like to become:
Educated and always learning.
Competent rather than just appearing competent.
Disciplined and hardworking.
Patient and resilient.
Calm under pressure.
Emotionally regulated instead of emotionally reactive.
Think before speaking or acting.
Listen more than I talk.
Speak only when I have something worthwhile or truthful to contribute.
Logical and fair when making decisions.
Open-minded enough to hear opposing viewpoints without abandoning my principles.
Strong enough to stand by my values respectfully.
Confident enough to admit when I don't know something.
Observant and aware of my surroundings.
Able to choose the right timing for words and actions.
Maintain good posture and carry myself with confidence.
Well-groomed, neat, and presentable while dressing modestly according to my Islamic values.
Communicate with kindness, humility, and quiet confidence.
Competitive with integrity rather than ego.
Respectful toward others, especially elders.
Focus my energy on what truly matters instead of distractions.
Patient enough not to give up easily, especially when emotions are involved.
Build healthy boundaries while remaining generous where it's right to be.
Stay authentic instead of trying to impress everyone.
For those who have intentionally transformed themselves over the years:
What habits, books, routines, philosophies, mentors, or life experiences had the biggest impact on helping you become someone others naturally respect?
If you had to build this kind of character from scratch over the next five years, where would you begin?
