Is Yaoi Worth it?

Late at night, I binge read my very first yaoi ever, but in the morning I woke up with a high fever and was extremely sick for like a week. I took it as a sign to never read or watch yaois ever again. Should I try another yaoi or should I just stick to yuri? If you guys think I should go back to yaoi, can I get some recommendations?
