Confused on Clans

Hi Tenno(s)!

Newb here, have had this game DLed for years but I am just starting to actually play it. Really enjoying so far.

I was told to get into a clan with 100 research ASAP. Im not entirely sure what that means or how you go about joining or evaluating clans. Any advice would be appreciated!
