From a Hotel Room in Pennsylvania to the Red Rocks of Sedona — I Wasn’t Expecting This [51M/25M]
I’m 51, gay, married, polyamorous, and I thought I knew how these things go. Then I took a trip to a small town in northwest Pennsylvania and met someone who rearranged my expectations entirely. I’m writing this to keep the memory alive — and because he’s coming to see me again, and I can’t stop smiling about it. I’ll call him Devon [25M] to protect his privacy. Devon, if you’re reading this: yes, all of this is about you, and yes, I meant every second of it.
I was visiting Corry, PA with a friend — a lovely little town where everything is fifteen or twenty miles from everything else and nobody thinks twice about driving an hour to see somebody. A couple days into the stay, I opened Scruff, mostly out of habit. I’m picky. I want chemistry, conversation, connection — and most profiles just don’t speak to me.
His did. Something about it just cried out from the screen. I followed him, sent the usual “hey, how’s it going,” and found out he was about 28 miles away. He’s a working guy — good job, conscientious, the kind of admirable that comes through even in text. My travel buddy was out for the evening with his sister, so I had the hotel room to myself for hours. Devon took a quick shower after work and drove down.
I met him in the lobby so he’d know he was in the right place, and my first thought was: the pictures didn’t do him justice. Cuter than his photos. Hotter than his photos. Just — exceeded every expectation on sight.
There was a little awkwardness at first, the way there always is. We talked. He excused himself to make sure he was ready for me, and honestly, that small act of care melted me. That’s one of the nicest things a guy can do — show up prepared, present, ready to be there with you. I warmed up completely right then.
And then we took our time. Neither of us wanted to rush it. He sat on the bed, I stood, we started making out — slowly, deliberately. Clothes came off piece by piece. We spent a solid hour just kissing, exploring — earlobes, necks, chests, hands everywhere. He laid his face in my chest hair, which is one of my absolute favorite things a boy can do, and I could have stayed in that moment for a week.
When things went further, they went further. I consider myself an ass eating champ, and this boy was ready for it — I ate him out for a good twenty minutes, no lube needed by the time we were done, and when he let me know he was ready for more, I flipped him over and gave him everything I had. Twice. The sex was mind-blowing. He gave me a full-body orgasm before he ever gave me the real one — the kind of sensual, vibrating, take-your-time intimacy you can’t manufacture. It wasn’t transactional. It was close. Passionate. Sweaty — we thought the A/C wasn’t even on. Our pheromones mingled, and by the end of roughly five hours, that room smelled like exactly what had happened in it: raw, gay, daddy-and-boy sex, and I was so happy about it I slept in until housekeeping knocked the next morning.
I asked him to spend the night. He wasn’t quite prepared for that — he likes his morning routine, and he had a drive to work — and I respected that completely. But letting him walk out to his car was harder than I expected.
I flew home out of Cleveland that Saturday. It’s Tuesday now, and we’ve texted every single day since. Somewhere in our conversations he turned me on to Orville Peck — queer country singer, and I’ve been listening ever since.
Then today he surprised me: he bought a ticket to Orville Peck’s show at The Van Buren. In Phoenix. Where I live. He said he panicked when he saw it was general admission or he’d have bought mine too — so now I’m grabbing my own ticket, and he’s planning to fly out and stay for a few days.
He told me that the last time he visited Phoenix, the people he stayed with only wanted to party and he never got to see the red rocks in Sedona. Not on my watch. While he’s here, he’s seeing Sedona. And I finally get the thing the hotel room only previewed: falling asleep next to him, and not getting much sleep at all.
I’m married, and my husband and I share a boyfriend who lives with us. This is an established, happy polycule. And I’ll admit something here that I’m still sitting with: part of me feels a little selfish, because part of me wants to keep Devon all to myself. I don’t know yet how that plays out, and I’m not pretending I do. That’s a conversation for the weeks ahead.
What I do know is this: I met a stranger on an app in rural Pennsylvania, and five hours later he’d emblazoned himself on my mind’s eye. Now I have something to look forward to that might be three months out, and I don’t even care about the wait.
I’ll be seeing you here in Arizona boy. 🥰
