Well he certainly has a better international career than most players but I judge players for what they do in tournaments. And he really hasn’t had one great tournament where he stood out. He is the all time top scorer in the euros but it took him 5 tournaments to get there. Even when he won the tournament in 2016 you could argue he wasn’t even the main reason they won it. Portugal’s defense and goalkeeping stood out as they only conceded one goal in the KOs. Let’s not even get started on the World Cup. Did you know Ronaldo has never had a World Cup where he scored in more than 2 games. He also has only 11 goals in 25 matches. For supposedly the greatest goalscorer ever. He doesn’t even average a goal every 2 games in the biggest competition. Not to mention only scoring 1 KO goal in the World Cup and it’s a penalty. Obviously his defenders will say that Portugal isn’t a big nation and shouldn’t be expected to win the World Cup. And I agree, I don’t expect them to win the World Cup. But I expect a guy that a lot of people call the goat to at least have a good tournament. If you look at the top 5 players of all time. Or around the top 5. They at least had one or two good tournaments in the World Cup. Ronaldo has never had that.
