I added FTP server support to my EPUB reader for remote libraries
Many ebook readers focus on local storage or cloud services, but I wanted an easy way to access books stored on my own server.
So I added FTP server support to Shiori EPUB Reader.
Now you can:
- π Connect to any FTP server
- π Browse your remote library
- π Open and read books directly from the server
- π Keep your collection in one place instead of copying files to every device
I originally built this for people who keep their ebook collection on a NAS, home server, Raspberry Pi, or other self-hosted storage.
Setup only takes a minute:
- Add a new FTP server.
- Enter your server address and login credentials.
- Browse your folders and start reading.
I'm interested in how other people manage their ebook libraries.
- Do you keep everything on your device?
- Use cloud storage?
- Run your own NAS or FTP server?
Here's a short demo showing the setup process:
