[IWantOut] 21M North Macedonia -> Switzerland/Germany
I've been feeling stuck lately and could really use some advice from people who've been in a similar position.
I'm 21 and I've worked as a mechanic since I was 15 in my family's workshop. I enjoy fixing things, but I don't see myself staying in the same garage for the next 20 years. I want to build a career, earn more, and eventually work on trucks, heavy equipment, or maybe even mining equipment.
I have an EU passport, so moving isn't the issue. The problem is figuring out the best path. Every option seems to have people saying something different—get certificates, don't get certificates, apply directly, use agencies, learn German first, start with cars, start with trucks...
If you were 21 again with my experience, what would your plan be?
Which country would you choose?
Which companies actually invest in training?
What mistakes should I avoid?
I'm not looking for shortcuts—I just don't want to spend years going in the wrong direction. I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who's made a similar move
