325i Time capsule advice
Hello all you wonderful E46 Lovers..
I posted in another forum recently about a standard non modified 2002 325i automatic (I know) that I bought in 2001 but now in 2026 has a total 8065 miles on it. I became ill less than a year after buying it and have been ill ever since. I had hopes of being able to drive again but that seems less likely these days and I've been looking into selling it. With relatively minor issues, and one power window that needs repaired it still looks new. It starts and runs fine, but I know it will no doubt need some new rubber gaskets etc and though I bought brand new tires for it the last time I was trying to drive, that was umm 10 years ago...
Anyway, I had contacted the local BMW dealership I bought it from to get the maintenance records and someone offered to buy it for about the same price as Carvana. Then he gave the info to a friend who has offered to buy it for 9k after seeing it. I was told to put it on Cars and Bids who have accepted it, but will need lots more pictures and I'm not sure I have the energy to deal with it all. I've had lots of opinions given on it, from the forums, to google who says its worth 12k to 16k to people who say ..well all sorts of wildly different things. Carfax says 15,700 then take 15 percent off for private party...but yes, ultimately it's only worth what someone is interested in spending.
I am someone who's life went in a very different direction than I had hoped so I don't have much of money and I am trying to be wise. God has blessed me in many ways but being decisive isn't one of them. Any opinions on how much I should sell it for? I don't think it's worth much to the average person but if I find the right fit who knows. Sadly it's not an M3 I know..so what should I expect? All opinions welcome.
