The man who simultaneously Defined Punk rock and Defied it

I was digitizing some tapes for Alex Carlin (Orange Constipation, The Rubinoos, Psycotic Pineapple, Alien Beach Head, Rüt Höst, Alex Carlin Band), and I decided to write a post about it... it was like a plate of spaghetti that kept growing. The tapes are now 35 years old and the sole surviving document of an american punk rock band playing hockey arenas in the actual Soviet Union months before it's dissolution. Far from retired, Alex still plays 100+ gigs a year, and holds a Guiness World record for "Longest Solo Concert" 32-hours without a single break.
