Taxes in the Air Force

My parents and I left Fort Hood, Texas for Wheeler Army Airfield in Hawaii. I will never forget filling out the residency paperwork with my recruiter in Hawaii. My mother told me as a military dependent, I can claim Texas, not Hawaii for tax purposes. She told me if I list Hawaii, the tax man isn't going to use any lube as he's yelling, "Aloha." I received my driver's license in Texas as a teenager so I listed Texas as my home of record.

I guarantee you people from California claim Texas after being stationed in the state. Californians don't stand on business like Texans.
