25M, earning ₹2L/month for 3 years. Not sure how to build a proper investment portfolio
Hi everyone,
I'm 25 years old and have been earning around ₹2 lakh per month consistently for the last 3 years through my e-commerce business. I come from a poor background, so I never had much financial guidance growing up.
Current situation:
- Age: 25
- Income: ~₹2L/month
- Business: E-commerce (primary source of income)
- City: Tier-2 city in India (remote work)
- Land: Bought a plot in a good location worth around ₹20 lakh
- Indian stocks: ₹6 lakh
- Gold: ₹2 lakh
- No house yet
- No debt
One important point: I'm from a Muslim background, so I avoid investments that involve interest (riba). That means I don't use FDs, conventional mutual funds, bonds, or interest-based lending/borrowing. I'm looking for halal/Sharia-compliant ways to grow my wealth.
I feel like most of my money is just sitting idle because I honestly don't know how to diversify properly.
My questions are:
- How would you build a diversified portfolio in my situation?
- What asset allocation would you recommend?
- Should I continue buying more land, increase my stock allocation, invest internationally, or look into other halal investment options?
- If you were starting at 25 with my financial position, what would you do differently?
I'd really appreciate advice from people who have experience with long-term wealth building, especially if anyone here follows Sharia-compliant investing.
