Is using an esim hotspot for work calls in Europe reliable enough?

I'll be travelling around France, Switzerland and Italy for about 18 days. It's mainly a vacation, but I'll still need to answer emails most evening and may have two or three Zoom calls during the trip.

Hotels should have wifi, but I don't want to depend on it completely. I'm thinking of getting a Europe esim with around 50GB and using hotspot as a backup for my laptop.

Has anyone done this before? Is an esim hotspot usually stable enough for a one-hour video call, or should I find a coworking space whenever I have something important?
