Robert Strong Story Utility [Spoilers ADWD]
Does anyone else feel that the inclusion of Robert Strong is kind of unnecessary and complicates the role of resurrection in the story? It introduces the fact that Qyburn, who was never shown to have any magic abilities, is able to fully revive a dead man into a zombie, which seems like a huge development and kind of comes out of nowhere. Yes, they did mention Qyburn experimenting with the dead in the past, but the jump from those lines to Qyburn being able to literally create reanimated zombies is massive. Also looking at the story to come, how could this ability that Qyburn has really play a role in the story outside of Cersei's trial? Very soon Young Griff will claim the Iron Throne from Cersei, and he likely won't leave Qyburn in a position to experiment. Even if he finds some way to continue creating zombies, I don't really see the role that Qyburn's zombies could play. If they aren't in the story going forward and Qyburn dies or something, then it seems like such an unnecessary plot point that introduces a new form of reincarnation out of nowhere.
