Is there something out there that will help block the negative effect of social media algorithms rather than just blocking the app !!
Ps :sorry about the rant but I’m tired.
I'm honestly tired of feeling trapped by social media algorithms. They know exactly how to keep us scrolling through other pople's fitness, careers, relationships, travel and success, while somehow making us feel anxious, insecure and behind in our own lives.
Screen-time and productivity apps are useful, but they mostly just block access. Then I'm left staring at my phone feeling restless and wondering, "Okay, what am I supposed to do now?" Eventually, I either unblock the app or replace it with another form of scrolling.
Does anything exist that actually reverses the algorithm?
Instead of using what it learns about us to recommend more content, it could suggest one small real-world experience based on what you seem interested in. Fitness videos could become a short workout.
Travel content could become somewhere nearby to explore. Career anxiety could become a realistic mini-experience of a job you are curious about.
No feed, followers or streaks. It would give something worth doing outside the screen and then get out of the way.
Does something like this exist?
