Does giving women working rights increase the gdp/pop?

Basically the title. I struggle getting more then 6-7gdp/pop in my games and noticed that I give women rights only in the late game when my politics is basically all sorted out. Is giving women the right to work a good idea to up my gdp as long as I have the availability to employ them?
Also on the same note. Does having working children work the same way?
