How To Sleep With OCD?

Question about OCD

I have a therapist that specializes in OCD but I’m waiting for her to get licensed in my state so I’m turning to Reddit for help. :(

My OCD makes it almost impossible for me to fall asleep, I actively fear going to bed because I’m worried about intrusive thoughts happening. It wasn’t always this bad but it’s getting worse. This has mostly started now that I live with my partner and therefore can no longer play Pokémon Sleep which I realized was a huge crutch of mine, ever since I stopped playing my quality of sleep has been terrible. (The reason I can’t play now is because it requires you to have your phone, unlocked, in bed all night, and not only do I sleep on the side of the bed furthest from the outlet but also I’m not leaving my phone unlocked for them to look through at night because I have OCD around people looking through my things 😍 Pokémon Sleep has lullabies built into the app to get you to fall asleep, which is what I was using before. I promise this isn’t an ad read lmao.) They’ve reccomended I fall asleep while listening to music or something but that would require me to buy headphones (which costs money) since I wouldn’t want to turn it up to max volume on the other side of the room and potentially cause a disturbance. We have a TV in our room now and I’ve considered buying a DVD player so I can fall asleep watching my comfort show but I’m hesitant to spend any money because poverty. I’ve also considered taking melatonin, but I’m already on Lisdexamphetamine for chronic exhaustion/maybe undiagnosed ADHD and I don’t want to have to take meds both to fall asleep and stay awake.

I fall asleep multiple hours before my partner does so waking them up isn’t a concern, but I don’t want to be a nuisance either and I also want to spend as little money as possible. The only ways I’ve been able to get to sleep recently is by
1: Staying up so late that I exhaust myself and just… pass out. So I’m sleeping from like 2 AM to 12 PM. This is horrible for my sleep schedule)
2: Thinking about fiction scenarios in my head that I want to write someday (doesn’t always work because sometimes these end up triggering me)
3: Playing the lyrics to songs in my head. But I’m worried about this potentially becoming a compulsion, especially since a lot of the time I’ll repeat one verse to myself or something

So, ignoring therapy which I know I need more of, how tf do you guys get to sleep???
