After one soaking too many on a mountain pass, I made an app that forecasts the route, not the destination
Hello everyone, first post here. I ride a GSX-S in the Carpathians and I also write software, so at some point I got tired of checking the forecast for the destination city and getting soaked in the pass in between β and built the thing I kept wishing existed.
It's called Haremoto, and it's now out on Android as well (finally).

The app shows you the weather along your route (+ live notifications if something changes), not just in the destination city. You give it a start and a destination (or a Google Maps link, or a GPX file), it works out what time you'll actually reach each point, and shows you the weather there at that time: temperature, rain, wind and gusts, visibility, daylight.
A few useful bits:
π£οΈ Dry Road Score β estimates whether the tarmac will be dry, damp or wet
π Compare the same route across the next 7 days and pick the good one
π Start Ride β follows your planned route, spots a real detour (doesn't panic over one wrong street) and only gives you the next weather leg
π§ Ride Now β for rides with no destination: records the trip and checks the weather in the direction you're actually heading
π Saves your ride history and shows you stats afterwards
Pro adds a few extras: lean angle through corners, G-forces on braking and acceleration, best time to leave, multi-day tours, back-road routing, a drier alternative route, full ride logbook and offline packs.
The basic version is free and works without an account. Weather data is global, so it's not a Romania-only thing.

If you give it a go, feedback is very welcome β especially if something looks broken or a feature you'd want is missing. ποΈ
(Mods β if this kind of post isn't allowed here, say the word and I'll take it down.)
