I came across a video arguing that parts of the Western media apply different standards when reporting conflicts involving different regions and populations.

The speaker claims that this reflects lingering colonial attitudes and selective empathy, pointing to differences in language, framing, and the amount of coverage certain events receive.

Whether or not you agree with that conclusion, it raises some questions:

Do you think Western media has a systematic bias in international conflict reporting?

Is it mainly political, ideological, economic, or something else?

Are there specific examples where you think coverage has been noticeably unbalanced?

How much of this is editorial choice versus audience demand?

I'm looking for an evidence-based discussion from different perspectives rather than partisan arguments. If you disagree with the premise, I'd be interested in hearing why as well.

HOW CAN THEY CONSIDER THEMSELVES MORALLY SUPERIOR WHEN THEY HAVE THIS MINDSET?
