I built a free Chrome extension that reads the "vibe" of any X/Twitter reply thread in real time — would love blunt feedback
Hey everyone — I'm a solo dev, and I built something called VibeCK after getting tired of scrolling through 200 replies just to figure out "is this thread going well or is it a dumpster fire."
It's a Chrome extension that sits on any X (Twitter) post and shows you, live:
- Overall vibe of the thread
- Dominant keyword/topic being discussed
- Mood indicator — a colored glow (green/blue/red) on a floating card so you can tell the temperature at a glance
It runs fully offline using a local lexicon-based engine by default, so nothing leaves your device. If you want deeper analysis, you can optionally plug in your own Gemini API key — but that's completely optional. Privacy-first: no data collection, API keys stay local.
It's live on the Chrome Web Store now (link below) and completely free. I built this alone over the last couple months, and I'm genuinely looking for feedback — especially from anyone who manages a brand account, community, or just reads a lot of reply threads: does the vibe detection actually feel accurate to you on real threads? Where does it get it wrong?

Happy to answer anything about how it works.
