So since the new episode got announced and it's too characters I know next to nothing about, but my girlfriend is quite the fan of Lego stuff. We've decided that she's going to show me Lego stuff after work so I can "get prepared"

First go around is the Lego Ninjago movie. Now I've only ever seen Lego Batman and the first Lego movie but I was told beforehand by her that "This isn't actually connected to the show, but think of it like a casuals entry point" so I kept that in mind

And after finishing it, I actually really enjoyed this. I remember enjoying the original Lego movie and Batman mainly for the fast paced comedy and animation and yeah the same goes for this. I found it quite funny and very well animated, shame they stopped making Lego movies because I forgot how much of a treat the animation was for these

I actually really enjoyed the story and the characters although I definitely felt like the actual Ninjago group could have had more to them since La-Lloyd definitely took the majority of the story. Garmadon was also very funny, I genuinely cracked up at the "How could I ruin your life? I wasn't even there" line.

The reveal of the cat also had me smiling the entire time. Me and GF actually own a cat, she's a massive maine coon and now, FINALLY, I can understand why my GF named her Meowthra. I thought for years it was a Super Sentai reference or Gundam or whatever, no it's from this movie. I finally know ball.

Now obviously I imagine the show is very different as I was told so I can't speak much on the part of fans of that, but as a casual entry this was just fun. I had a good time and that's all that matters. Hope the show can give the same joy, and my GF actually does own the Lego Ninjago movie game, it's one of the few games she plays so I'll probably give that a shot with her when I have the time same with the GameCube Bionicle game

Before that however our next watch is going to be Bionicle: Mask of Light. Since they're movies and not a series we're going to watch them next before starting the Ninjago series, and all she really told me was that Bionicle 3: Web of Shadows is "peak fiction" so hopefully this is a fun watch through
