Baby Boy Born 8lbs 7oz!
Gave birth 7/28! It was difficult birth but at the end all came out ok!
Water started leaking midnight 7/27, started getting contractions around 1:30am and did my best to labor at home as long as I could. I went in around 5pm on the 27th where they checked me and I was 4cm dilated and 90% effaced. I really wanted to do a natural birth so I spent the next 12 hours in pain with contractions. I had bad back labor and barely could stand it.
I can't recommend enough to get the epidural. I was scared of it at first but after getting it everything changed for the good! I could sleep for a little bit before shift change. It was a night and day shift in me. I was panicky and unable to think fully when the contractions would hit and after the epidural BOOM I was tired, coping well, and able to conversate better.
Around 545am I started yelling for the epidural and crazy enough within 15 minutes I was sitting upright getting it placed in my back.
Drom 2pm to 5 am I pushed for 3 hours, my OB and nurses were starting to frustrate me with the directions and orders they were giving me. I know thats their job and they can't hold my hand or birth my baby for me but when his head finally popped out I pushed for a fourth time and birthed him all at once! I was getting tired of the counting and holding my breath and waiting for contractions. Now he is swaddled, fed, and has some hiccups at the foot of my bed. Ive eaten half of a giant Jersey Mike sandwich. I also have gotten some sleep since he was born. I had minimum tearing, just a couple of stitches.
I'm a little sore from pushing. It feels like I'm short of breath when I stand.
Also he was born wide eyed and alert! Hes so cute, I think he has Hubby's eyes, nose, and curly hair but my lips and chin.
