Repost: Humane World for Animals

190 million animals are estimated to be used in harmful experiments each year globally. 🌍😔

At Humane World for Animals , we work around the globe to replace cruel, outdated animal testing and research with innovative, animal-free methods.

But what’s the difference between animal testing and animal research? 🤔

🧪 Animal testing involves the use of animals to determine the safety of a product. Chemicals, pesticides, medicines, and vaccines are often required by law to be tested on animals before they are placed on the market. We’re working to change laws and regulations so that outdated animal tests are replaced with animal-free methods.

🧪 Animal research attempts to develop our understanding of human biology and disease. Because all species are different, animal-based research can be deeply unreliable and can even hinder medical progress. We’re working to redirect funding away from traditional animal research towards innovative animal-free research that can advance public health and spare countless animals from suffering.

There is one key similarity between animal testing and research: they both belong in the past. We advocate for methods that are safer, faster, and more reliable for humans, without causing animals to suffer. 🐁➡️🧪
