Social media is stressing me to the point of starvation

TW: Eating Disorders / Self Image

For context: I am a minor. The ED tag is not fully true, but it does include stress affecting my eating habits.

Im a brittle person, not particularly empathetic, but brittle. When people say things about me they hurt and swell for a long period, and getting over it hurts me. I’ve always had issues with people observing me, far from paranoia but enough to cause substantial panic for myself.

I was Introduced to the internet very young, it assisted my mom with not having to parent me 24/7, and gave me an affinity for games, and coding. Sadly, these days were short-lived, and I fell into the ‘cringe culture’ craze of the 2015, and learned what was ‘right’ and what ‘wasn’ from there, instead of the adults in my life. Nowadays, I’m learning how to be myself. I know this may seem irrelevant, but I think it’s contributed to my main topic.

My average daily routine is sorry, it seems every day I scroll on my phone, occasionally get moved around or have a conversation in real life but it all boils down to getting my half-second dopamine hits for the day. But sometimes, I see something that makes me deeply upset, something that makes me feel panicked. I need to respond, it feels like a sacred vindication I have to show others. It makes me stressed, above anything. This carries even after I put the phone down, it guides my hand to what I’ll react to or how I’ll respond. It makes me look at myself even worse above all else. It becomes the only thing I can think of, it consumes me. I forget to eat food, and when I do I no longer have any passion to make it. I choose fast snacks, cookies and candies but they never satisfy me. It makes me feel like I can’t remember the taste of any of my favorite foods, it bitters my mind.

I apologize if I came off as too theatrical with my words at the end there, but they’ve been in my brain for so long I had to get them out somehow. Thank you for reading, and have a good day.
