I find it extremely odd how people in the porn industry and the rule 34 nsfw artists unironically think they are some sort of victim or something whenever people are obviously not fans of what they make. Like it genuinely baffles me every single time I see it. All these people do is use the industry and their talent to pump out over sexualized extreme content nonstop, day after day, the most unrealistic bodies and acts and proportions you can think of, and the second anyone is even slightly against it or just doesn’t want to consume it they default straight to labeling them “haters” and the worst of it “immature” like disagreeing with their product is some kind of personal attack on their existence. They act like the mere existence of people who don’t want to watch that stuff or look at that art is an injustice that needs to be fought.

When you actually call them out for reinforcing and producing content that trains people to get attracted to completely unrealistic proportions, body types, and scenarios that will never exist in real life, they act like you’re the problem. I’m talking about the kind of stuff the porn industry pushes and the rule 34 artists copy and amplify nonstop, the extreme fetish fuel that warps expectations so hard that normal bodies and normal sex start looking “wrong” or “not enough” to a lot of the audience that consumes it constantly. And instead of even considering that maybe flooding everything with that kind of content has consequences, they just double down and cry about how mean everyone is for not celebrating it. I’m obviously against genuine threats or harassment against anyone, nobody should be getting death threats or doxxed or whatever, but most of the time these people are just given genuine non-harmful criticism and they treat it like the person is actively threatening them or trying to ruin their life. They blow it up into this huge persecution narrative the second someone says “hey this is kind of toxic” or “I don’t think this is healthy.”

To me it seems like in their heads they genuinely believe it’s an attack the moment someone isn’t on board with their open porn addiction and the way the industry and the nsfw art scene push it into every space. Like if you don’t want hyper sexualized extreme porn and rule 34 art shoved in your face constantly or if you think it’s weird how much of the output is just pure fantasy fuel that has nothing to do with real people, somehow you’re the one being aggressive. They act like their right to make and sell that content includes a right to never hear a single negative opinion about it. It’s wild. You can criticize a fast food chain for making people fat and nobody acts like you’re trying to destroy the workers, but the second you criticize the porn industry or the rule 34 artists for contributing to porn addiction and unrealistic body standards it’s suddenly “hate” and “you’re just immature and repressed” and “anti sex work” or “anti art.”

Also hate the whole “freedom” defense, it’s stupid as hell. When the industry and the nsfw artists create something that actively contributes to growing porn addiction, warping people’s expectations of real bodies and real sex, and flooding everything with hyper-sexualized content that looks nothing like actual human relationships, that defense just falls apart. Freedom to produce doesn’t magically erase the effects of what they’re putting out there, and pretending every bit of pushback is just “haters being immature” is pure cope. They love to hide behind “it’s just adult content” or “it’s just art” or “don’t like it don’t watch” while simultaneously getting offended the second people do exactly that and choose not to support or engage with it. You can’t demand absolute freedom to pump this stuff out and then demand that nobody is allowed to criticize the impact it has. That isn’t how it works. If the porn industry and the rule 34 scene are helping normalize extreme content and unrealistic proportions to the point where a lot of the people consuming it start treating real people like they’re inferior or broken for not matching the fantasy, then yeah people are allowed to point that out without being called haters or immature or whatever other label they throw around to shut down the conversation.

The porn industry sets the template with the most extreme bodies and acts imaginable and then the nsfw artists and rule 34 crowd take that same template and push it even further into pure fantasy territory, making everything more exaggerated, more impossible, more detached from anything that exists in real life. And both sides act shocked when people notice that constant exposure to that stuff rewires how people see actual humans. Both sides treat any criticism of the addiction pipeline they feed as some kind of moral panic instead of just basic observation. Both sides act like the only acceptable response is total silence or endless praise. It’s the same victim script over and over. Point out that the content is designed to keep people hooked on things that can never be real and suddenly you’re the bad guy for noticing. Point out that the constant flood of unrealistic proportions and extreme fetish content is not neutral and not consequence-free and they act like you just committed a crime. The industry and the art scene that copies it both do this, and both refuse to own any of the downstream effects while still demanding total protection from criticism.

These people are not the victims they think they are
