**Lenovo LOQ 15ARP9 - G, H and Up Arrow keys randomly stop working / type wrong characters**
Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone has experienced this before because I'm honestly at a loss.
I have a Lenovo LOQ 15ARP9 and recently my built-in keyboard started acting weird.
Symptoms:
* `G`, `H`, and the **Up Arrow** are the main problematic keys.
* Sometimes pressing one key types another character or the letters get transposed (for example, typing **"get"** can come out as **"egt"**).
* Sometimes the keys don't register at all.
* The issue is intermittent—it isn't 100% reproducible.
What I've already tried:
* Updated the BIOS to the latest version.
* Tested in Linux using keyboard event tools.
* Tested with an external USB keyboard (**works perfectly**).
* Opened the laptop and cleaned out the dust (didn't unplug any ribbon cables).
* Reassembled everything correctly. Laptop boots fine, fans are fine, and everything else works normally.
### Other observations:
* No liquid damage.
* No recent drops or physical impact.
* The laptop functions perfectly otherwise.
* External keyboard has **zero issues**, which makes me think it's specific to the built-in keyboard.
My questions:
-
Has anyone had this exact issue on a Lenovo LOQ?
-
Does this sound like a failing keyboard, a ribbon cable issue, or something else?
-
Did replacing the keyboard fix it?
-
If you had it repaired, how much did it cost?
I'd really appreciate any advice because I'm out of warranty, and I'd rather not replace the entire top case if there's another solution.
Thanks!
