Does anyone actually get asked whether ChatGPT recommends your brand?
Real question, not a setup for anything.
A lot of the AI search talk right now is about showing up in ChatGPT, Gemini, whatever, when someone asks it to recommend a tool. And I keep wondering if that's an actual expectation anyone is held to yet, or if it's still just a thing people write LinkedIn posts about.
Like, has your boss or a client ever literally asked "do we show up when you ask ChatGPT about this?" Is it on a report anywhere? Or is it the kind of thing everyone nods about in a meeting and then nobody owns?
(I do content at Planable, and I'll be honest, we talk about this internally plenty, so I'm not pretending I'm above the hype. I just don't actually know how real it is outside our own bubble.)
Because there's a difference between a trend that's coming and a trend that's already on someone's list of things they'll get chewed out for missing. Google rankings are clearly the second kind. AI answer visibility feels like it's somewhere in between, and where exactly seems to depend entirely on who you ask.
So, honestly: has anyone here actually been asked to care about this by someone who signs off on your work? Or is it still all talk?
