Do you think classic 2D Pokémon games could ever make a comeback?

Maybe this is just nostalgia talking, but I really miss the classic 2D Pokémon games.

I’m talking about the top-down style of the older generations, or even a modern 2D-HD approach. I also miss the traditional turn-based gameplay. There was something about that formula that felt incredibly charming.

I’ve tried the newer 3D Pokémon games, but I just can’t get into them the same way. The transition to fully 3D hasn’t been as engaging for me, even though I know a lot of people enjoy it.

Do you think there’s any chance Nintendo/Game Freak would ever release a brand-new mainline Pokémon game in a classic 2D (or 2D-HD) style?

Or do you think Pokémon has moved on for good, and fully 3D is simply the future of the series?

I’d honestly buy a game like that on day one.
