Anyone else use music to set the mood for writing?

Was talking with a friend who’s also a writer, and mentioned how I was just listening to my “cry but don’t really cry playlist (yes that’s the name) earlier today because I was writing the death of a character I really loved writing. They looked at me like I’m crazy, and said that when they are writing they do it in total silence, like locked doors and if the neighbor’s dog barks they lose focus.

I’m not the only one who listens to music while writing right? I have a sad, a happy, and an inspirational playlist I listen to depending on whether I’m writing, angst/drama, fluff/romance or battle scenes respectively.
