Solomon Kane is the effortlessly iconic protagonist of the eponymous book series by Robert E. Howard (of the Conan fame) and who was adopted into Marvel comics. His look — dark cape, brim hat, vaguely Puritan clothes, black hair — have been used in many other iconic designs (Vampire Hunter D, Warhammer, Blood, Legacies of Kane, Hellsing etc.)
